MJ's memorial was too great to be put into words. Rev. Al Sharpton said something that really resonated with me when he addressed Michael's children. Your daddy was not a strange man. Strange things just happened to him. It really sums up the hardships Michael had to face with the media.

I'll speak for everyone and say that Paris killed us at the end of it by sharing how much she loved her father. Here's this girl that we barely know about, have hardly seen her face because it was hidden, and now she speaks to the world as just a regular child missing her daddy. It was heartbreaking.

Now I'm off to go feed the beast of an obsession I'm having reliving the man's music.

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you. These are the words given to me by [info]digthenym1. The Great Gatsby:

It was one of our last novels to read in English class and I actually enjoyed. it. :) Surprise there! I liked the dynamics of the characters together. Gatsby was my favorite; flaws and all. I really liked the distant friendship he shared with Nick. And this all reminds me that I need to check this book out at my library soon so I can read it once more.

2. Miyavi

Oh wow. You really shouldn't have done this one. :D What can I say about Miyavi? Well first off, he's my hero/mentor/idol/friend and I'll probably stick to that for quite some time. There hasn't ever been a person before him that I found so interesting and who I truly admire so much. And because of all that, I'm just a little bit in love with him as a person. I think he's an excellent husband to Melody and he'll be an excellent father to his unborn child as well.

3. poetry:

Actually, I don't read much poetry, nor do I write it. If so, it's always prose. The act of rhyming always reminds me of Sesame Street so I tend to steer clear of that.

4.  Texas:

Everything's bigger and better in Texas, so they say. :DDD And so far, it's proven true. I've lived here all my life, excluding two years in Arkansas. And despite the feeling that it is the closest state to the sun, and the humidity and mosquitoes and fire ants and cockroaches will drive you fucking batty, this place is home.

5. Naruto fandom:

Despite my great efforts to leave and go on to bigger and better things, Naruto holds me down and slaps my plot bunnies around like the redheaded stepchildren they are. I love writing fanfiction for this fandom; the characters are so alive and full of pontential and I always feel like I'm not harnessing enough of that. In the midst of writing a multi-chaptered fic called Gaikokujin and it steals my soul.

Have you noticed that the cars around Texas (that is, if you live in it) have increasinly been getting bigger and bigger? That must mean our economy is either stabalizing to some extent, or the general populace are under the impression it has.

I know everything's supposed to be bigger and better in Texas, as the saying goes, but just today, little car crammed in between an 18-wheeler and a 4X4 extended cab really proved that. Aside from feeling pretty small and vulnerable between the two, I made a comment about how our economy must be getting back in order and my friend looks at me with this WTF face.

But it's true. When the economy is low, gas prices get higher and people park their giant trucks and suburbans into their garages and opt for a more fuel-efficient car. This time last year, all you saw were smaller cars on the roads. All the dealerships were desperate to get the multitude of 4-door trucks off their lots. Everyone was trading in their "badass" off-road vehicle for a mazda or toyota.

Now, in the past few months, I've noticed the monster trucks are back on the road so that means either gas prices are continually getting lower or people are somehow coming by more money.. illegal fraud, drug trafficking, idk. Point is, there is not point to my senseless rambling except yay! I save more money.

1. One book that changed your life:
Why The Tree Loves the Ax by Jim Lewis. If there was ever a book to help describe very key parts of humanity and human nature at it's ugliest in general, I think this would be it. It's not a slasher book, more of a psychological thriller/suspense and it's absolutely amazing. It was one of my main jumpstarts at wanting to become an criminal psychologist.

2. One book that you’ve read more than once:
the nature of jade by Deb Caletti. It's another one of this tear-your-heart-open-and-disect sort of books but much more subtle. The main character, Jade, is easily identifiable in a lot of girls I see today and her panic disorder sometimes helps me cope with my own anxiety troubles.

3. One book you’d want on a desert island:
Carpe Diem by Autumn Cornwell. If that chick was able to get through all her adventures in a foreign country, I can handle one ti

4. One book that made you laugh:
Lamb: a novel. The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore. I'm not in the least bit religious but this book had me in tears with the humor. Thank you best friend for lending it to me.

5. One book that made you cry:
Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. Even the parts that were supposed to be humorous were just incredibly heart-breaking to me only because the humor was being used to cover up the angst. It's a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to anyone.

6. One book that you wish had been written:
I'm not sure if it already has one but Hitman needs a novel. Yes, yes?

7. One book story that you wish had never been written:
Twilight. My life would have been so much easier if getting absolute horseshit published these days was harder.

8. One book you’re currently reading:
:( I'm not reading anything at the moment. Books-A-Million and Hastings, here I come!

9. One book you’ve been meaning to read:
Fight Club by Chuck Pahlniukowulsadfj. I've been meaning to finish the movie too. Hm, fail.

b. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

1. What are your nicknames?
1. What is the significance behind one of your nicknames?
1. WHY SO SERIOUS?

1.) Anyone else fracking sick of seeing that quoted all over the fucking place?

Instead of making me grow weary of it, I always find myself wondering what it is I'm supposed to be serious about because for the life of me, I can't really figure it out.

2. How do you style your hair?
2. Do any of your personal electronic items ( cell phone, iPod, computer, etc. ) have names?
My computer monitor is named Edward and the CPU is Alphonse (FMA), cell's name is Noctis though ironically Lightning is the wallpaper. Other than those three things, I rarely get attached to things that don't breathe.

3. What's new in your life right now?
3. What are some things that you are most excited for in the near future?

No, but I'd really like to get into that. I think I would be less tired if I did that instead of trying to squeeze in 6-7 hours every night.

8. If the person you secretly like is already taken, what would you do?
It's not much of a secret who I like and there will come a day when he's taken. And I'll be perfectly fine with that.

Sketch

Author: shutupandsing3

Fandom: Naruto

Rating: K

Summary: This is the only painting he'll ever name. Drabble-ish one-shot.

Comments: A quick one-shot filled with symbolism that I jotted down in English after finishing major test on Julius Caesar. I assure you there are no “hath’s” or “thou’s” in here. Damn them.

Mood Song: Hysteria by Muse (what was quietly blaring in my ears underneath the invisibility of my hoodie :D)

Warning: MAJOR FRIGGIN’ SPOILERS, PEOPLE!! If you’re not up-to-date with the anime or the manga, which I go by, and you don’t want it ruined for you, I highly suggest you click the back button. If you don’t give a damn, have fun reading!

Disclaimer: I could jot down something amazingly witty but what’s the use? Kishimoto-san is never going to sign over the lease, either way.

Second Thought

Author: Mask of Mirage

Fandom: Death Note

Rating: K+

Summary: Watching L sleep at night causes Light to rethink what he's doing and why it seems so hard to do the right thing. Drabble.

Comments: My first story pioneering into Death Note. I’ve read a lot of good Death Note stories and figured I would give it a shot. Just a short drabble piece to start me off. Set a couple nights after Light regains his memories of the Death Note.

Mood Song: Golden by Fall Out Boy

The Truth About Heaven

Author: shutupandsing3

Fandom: Naruto

Rating: K+

Summary: In Memory Of. Can even a soul as damned as his become a saint? Itachi-centric.

Comments: I don’t know where this came from honestly. Perhaps it was the death of a most admired character and just the way Kishimoto-san can put me in an utterly angsty mood. I’m not sure why this one-shot is focused on Catholicism because I don’t consider Itachi religious in the least bit and I, myself, am an atheist. Who knows, maybe someone will like it?

Warnings: AU, adult themes and the fact that I may botch some really key aspects of the Catholic religion. Sorry.

November Crimson

Author: shutupandsing3

Fandom: Naruto

Rating: M

Comments: Um, wow. I don’t really know what to say for this or how to warn you. This story was actually spurred from a recent accidental suicide at my school (R.I.P. Rob Ward) and the school shooting that took place in Ohio a few weeks ago. Note that this is a Fanfiction involving a school shooting in itself. It’s going to push the envelope and possibly offend someone because I’m going to go into detail about the mechanics of the happenings. I apologize greatly if this upsets you but this has become a growing problem and people need to know what is happening due to: bullying, ostracizing, and problems at home.

The story itself will be broken into separate parts; a point of view from each person involved. As a whole, this was very difficult for me to write. It required tons of research on bullet wounds and head injuries, not to mention other assortments of morbid and gruesome pictures. I tried to stay true to the series by maintaining the same “victims” that Gaara had injured in the manga. Gaara is the shooter which also proved difficult for me because he is my favorite character and it was challenging for me to send him on a violent rampage, that ultimately did not end well.

I hope you enjoy this greatly and learn something beneficial from reading this. This is the second death at my school in the past three weeks. It has got to stop somehow.

Disclaimer: I own many things. Naruto is not one of them. The plot line, although, I do own.

Because Dorkdom has reached a new level.
